Meet Dr. Conboy
Parker Conboy, DMD is the latest addition to the Gurtner Dental family. Dr Conboy, a lifelong Mt Lebanon resident is thrilled to have joined a home-town dental practice. “It’s a dream come true to come home and practice dentistry in the community where I was raised.”
After graduating from Mt Lebanon High School as an accomplished student and standout soccer player, Dr Conboy studied Neuroscience and Psychology at Northwestern University. In addition to the rigorous course load at Northwestern, Dr Conboy spent summers conducting research at Harvard University and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, where he was published in the Journal of Immunology.
Dr Conboy returned to Pittsburgh and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine graduating Summa Cum Laude. He was active in both the Pediatric Dentistry Club and the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry, two service organizations that focus on the dental needs of children and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Service has always been a priority for Dr Conboy. Whether he is coaching youth soccer in his hometown of Mt Lebanon, playing basketball and mentoring at risk children in Chicago, or counseling Pitt students who aspire to gain admission to dental school, Dr Conboy always makes time to give back.
Dr Conboy’s caring nature, eagerness to learn, and calm demeanor make him a perfect fit for Gurtner Dental. “We have been looking for another dentist for quite a while and are glad that we were patient and eventually found the perfect fit. We have a similar treatment philosophy focusing on a patient centered approach to dentistry. At Gurtner Dental we have always aspired to remain current and up to date and know that bringing an enthusiastic, young dentist into our practice will help us continue to bring the latest in dental techniques, materials, and technology to our practice.”
Personally, Dr Conboy enjoys running, walking his two dogs Luna and Leo, traveling, and trying new restaurants around town with his girlfriend Andi, who is also a dentist in the Mt Lebanon. Dr Conboy is also an avid sports fan and will never pass up the opportunity to cheer on his favorite Northwestern and Pittsburgh sports teams.
